Background and Client Requests

Recently, the automobile industry is rapidly experiencing an industry-wide paradigm shift based on mega trends such as “system intelligentization,”  “Power source electrification,” “body material  lightweighting”. As such, a need for systematic support of small and medium-sized companies that lack capital and technical expertise has become an issue. In order to promote and lead the growth of the domestic auto parts industry, the Korea Automotive Technology Research Institute needs to prepare innovative measures such as establishing a future growth strategy and an effective organizational operation model.

Key To Way’s Approach

In order to address the customers' needs, Key To Way chose four-steps approach:

  • Established strategic directionality and organizational system standards by identifying external environmental analysis and internal status and capabilities

  • Diagnosed the institutes’ business & research capabilities and organization/human resources management system

  • Established future direction and targets and determined necessary tasks to achieve such goals

  • Reflected additional opinions through executive meetings, consultations with the labor union and company-wide briefing sessions for all employees

Outcome

The client is in the process of implementation and expects two changes:

  • Change in strategic operational direction based on international leading organizations to lay the foundation for becoming a recognized research institute in the world as well as in Korea

  • Advancement of Personnel/Organization Management System to increase the satisfaction and operational efficiency of existing staff and increase the interest of highly recognized applicants
